What lingers from Klara and the Sun isn't some overwhelming sense of artistic revelation, but a handful of lovely images, Ortega's endearing performance, Tharia's quietly affecting portrayal of Josie, some amusing exchanges, and an occasionally touching examination of how people respond to the possibility of losing what they love.

Wildwood is a sprawling, magnificent testament to human stubbornness. A celebration of the handmade, the beautifully impractical, and the almost suicidal ambition required to create something truly distinctive. It's proof that technological progress needn't come at the expense of human expression, and that sometimes the most revolutionary thing an artist can do is refuse to take the easy way out.

Mother Mary opens itself up to something much stranger than it ever fully commits to, and that tension runs through everything.

Mile End Kicks ends up feeling smaller than it wants to be, and more forgiving of Grace than it probably should be. It captures her drift, her blind spots, her avoidance, but it never really presses on them hard enough to turn that into something sharper.
